How can I create a new task type in Cavalato?

Task types, the standard for estimation creation. By default, we have already provided some task types for you. So you don't need to create these manually.

Have we forgotten some tasks? No worries! You can still add task types manually. We will show you step by step how to do this.

How can I create a new task type?


To create a new task type, you can go to the "System" tab in Cavalato.

Under "System", choose "Task types".


You will get an overview of already existing task types here. Would you like to create a new task type? Then press the 'Create new task type' button.

Fill in the fields to create a new task type.

Optionally, you can add a translation for the task type.



Be sure not to link a ledger to your new task type! We will need this ledger later to be able to create an invoice.

Under color, you can give the task type a colour of your choice. The color will be used to display the task in the planning.

A mandatory field to fill in, 'Sort'. Here you can specify the order in which the tasks should be presented in the overview. Enter a number here.

Creating a task that employees may clock in on without a job? Then be sure to check the 'Jobless' and/or 'Taskless' checkbox.

Under the category, you can indicate whether the task belongs to, for example, labour costs, spraying costs, mechanics costs, ...

At the last step, you can indicate whether the task is productive or rather supportive. Be sure not to skip this step! After all, it will affect the reporting.

Completed everything? Then don't forget to save your new task type. You can use the task type immediately on your estimations or in time registration.
