Received a payment on an invoice? Super! Time to book it off in Cavalato so you don't lose track. We'll show you how to add a payment to the invoice in the FAQ below.
To enter a payment on an invoice, you can go to the ‘Invoices’ tab in Cavalato.

When opening the invoice list, you will see icons in different colours. The icon can have the following colours:
Orange: A partial payment has already been booked on the invoice. The invoice has the status partially paid
Red: The invoice is past due date and no payment has yet been booked on the invoice.
Green: A payment has been booked on the invoice and the invoice has been fully paid
Black: The invoice is not yet past due and no payment has been booked on the invoice.

You can enter a payment on an invoice by pressing the euro sign. You will see the following screen. Here we show you an overview of the amount invoiced, the amount credited (if any), the amount paid and the outstanding balance.

Received a payment from your customer? Then press the ‘New’ button to enter the payment on the invoice.

For entering a payment, we have provided the following fields:
Amount, here we automatically display the outstanding amount of the invoice so you don't have to enter it manually. You can of course edit the field in case you have received a different amount for the invoice.
A date field so you can record when you received the payment
Paid by: here we show the parties linked to the job
Name (if you have indicated others under paid by, you can make an extra note here of the person/company that made the payment)
Payment method
A comment. This is an internal note that is not visible to the customer.

Entered the required information? Then don't forget to press ‘Save’ to link the payment to your invoice.

We will automatically adjust the status of the invoice for you based on the amount entered. For payments, you will now also get a visual overview of the entered information.

Did you know that you can also add payment at the level of the invoice itself? Here you will find the same euro icon. You can enter the payment in the same way as described in the article above.
