Have you made a mistake on an invoice? Or part of the invoice needs to be credited? No worries! We show you in this FAQ how to create a credit note.
To create a credit note, you can go to the ‘Invoicing’ tab in Cavalato.
Here you will find an overview of all invoices and proformas.
Find the invoice you want using the filters and press the icon below to create a credit note.
Select the lines you wish to add to the credit note.
All lines indicated? Then press the ‘Create credit note’ button.
Would you like to add a reason for creating this credit note? Then note this in the field ‘Invoice comment’. This comment will be included on the document
Completed and checked all details? Then press ‘Save’ to save your changes.
Press ‘Assign number’ to give your credit note a number. It will be automatically assigned based on the set numbering of your journal.
Press the ‘Print email’ button to view the document in pdf.
Once you have ‘printed’ the document, the document will automatically be added under pdf documents in Cavalato's documents folder.
You can send the credit note in the same way as for an invoice. At the bottom of the screen you will find a ‘Communication’ section. Here you can create a new communication and add the credit note as an attachment to the e-mail.
The credit note will also become visible in the job under the ‘Financial’ tab.
The ‘Invoicing’ tab will also visually show that a credit note has been issued. Here we show the amount of the credit note, whether the invoice has been partly/ completely credited and the number of the credit note.
